Michael Brown is an Employee Rights Attorney, and joined Peterson, Berk & Cross in June of 2007.

Mike represents employees in employment law matters. He assists employees with:
  • Unpaid Wages and Fraud;
  • Discrimination and Harassment;
  • Unemployment Benefits;
  • Wrongful Discharge and Whistleblowing;
  • Employment Contracts (Severance, Non-Compete);
  • Employment Torts;
  • Pre-Litigation Counseling; and
  • Employment Litigation (Federal and State Courts, ERD, EEOC, and several other forums).
Mike has represented hundreds of employees with diverse jobs, backgrounds, and nationalities. He has represented entry-level workers, and professionals and executives from large organizations. Mike is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Wisconsin Employment Lawyers Association, and is a board member of the State Bar's Individual Rights and Responsibilities section.

Unlike most employment attorneys, Mike represents only employees (not employers), and practices only employment law. This focus allows Mike to concentrate his practice solely on issues that affect employees and their rights.

A graduate of UW Law School, Mike spent several years practicing law in Milwaukee, and worked for two of the State's largest employee rights firms. It was a natural fit for Mike to move his employee rights practice to Appleton (his hometown), and to join Peterson, Berk & Cross, a successful litigation firm with a longstanding commitment to individual rights.

Mike lives in the Fox Valley with his family.
